DPKG_COLORS
              Sets the color mode (since dpkg 1.18.5).  The currently
              accepted values are: auto (default), always and never.


       DPKG_NLS
              If set, it will be used to decide whether to activate
              Native Language Support, also known as
              internationalization (or i18n) support (since dpkg
              1.19.0).  The accepted values are: 0 and 1 (default).


       SOURCE_DATE_EPOCH
              If set, it will be used as the timestamp (as seconds since
              the epoch) to clamp the mtime in the tar(5) file entries.


       VISUAL
       EDITOR Used by the '2.0' and '3.0 (quilt)' source format modules.


       GIT_DIR
       GIT_INDEX_FILE
       GIT_OBJECT_DIRECTORY
       GIT_ALTERNATE_OBJECT_DIRECTORIES
       GIT_WORK_TREE
              Used by the '3.0 (git)' source format modules.
