4. Coincident major penalties


Situation 1

A3   5 minutes + GM at 3:00
B8   5 minutes + GM at 3:00

  • at 3:00 teams play 5 on 5
  • Teams do not need to put substitute skaters in the penalty box because A3 and B8 are ejected from the game and the two major penalties cancel each other

    Situation 2

    A1 (goaltender)   5 minutes + GM at 3:00
    B8   5 minutes + GM at 3:00

  • at 3:00 teams play 5 on 5
  • Teams do not need to put substitute skaters in the penalty box because A1 and B8 are ejected from the game and the two major penalties cancel each other
